Dames violet

Dames violet is a very pretty flower for the cottage garden border or a wildlife area. The purple/white clusters of flowers are highly fragrant especially in the evening and are super for attracting butterflies. . In the wild it prefers a damp site in sun or part shade and can be seen in woodlands or on road verges. It is also known by many other common names such as Damask violet or Summer lilac
