Wild parsnip

£3.30£5.80

Wild parsnip is a wildflower of grassland and road verges, mainly found in central and southern England. it is most usually found in neutral or calcareous areas. It is a member of the carrot flower, yet the flower umbels are yellow. The stems can reach upto 2m, so ideal in grassland or at the back of a border where it will self seed. The sap from the stems can cause a skin reaction however so care must be taken when cutting back. It prefers a sunny position and a well drained soil, being ideal in a wildlife area and adding an interesting burst of colour.

The Wild parsnip is biennial; our 2020 plants will therefore be most likely to flower in 2021
