Description
Melissa officinalis is also known as Lemon balm, due to the whorls of aromatic lemon scented leaves. It is a bushy perennial up to 1m tall and carries small white flowers in mid summer which attract bees and other pollinators. Lemon balm is particularly grown for the kitchen garden or apothecary garden, due to it’s valuable culinary and medicinal properties.
